Schultz Rose Food

Hi!

I also posted this on the antique rose forum but thought I'd get more responses here.

I'm new to roses and just received "La France" from Uncommonrose.com. I picked up Schultz Rose Food (the all natural kind 3-1-1) because it looked nice and safe.

I'm wondering if anyone here has used it with good results? My roommate thinks it's going to attract bugs because it's made from sugar beet roots and molasses. I'm hoping NOT!

Thanks for any help you can give me.

What attracts bugs to plants is an unhealthy plant, not necessarily the plant food you use. Something made from sugar beets and molasses is less likely to be an attractant for insects than the other synthetic plant foods that help you grow unhealthy plants.

Thanks, Kimmsr,

I've used it, and so far, no lines of ants or other bugs marching toward my plants. I really like this stuff. I'm going to use fish emulsion on my outdoor potted plants and keep the Schultz food for my indoor ones. I had no idea that synthetic fertilizers were not so good for the environment.
