Where to find Bugs for Hire

| I ordered from a company that I thought was BugsForHire, but cannot find them. Any suggestions on where to buy green lacewings. AND does anyone have an opinion on the efficacy of green lacewings compared to thrips predators for thrips in an open garden situation.
Thx |

| I'm planning to place an order with "Gardens Alive" for green lacewings and encapsulated earthworm cocoons. This will be my first order with the company, but I've read positive comments about it on GW in the past. www.gardensalive.com(sorry, don't know how to make it a link) |

You're actually much better off buying green lacewing larvae than any other life stage, even though they're more expensive. A study by Mike Raupp and a grad student, I believe, showed that the eggs get carried off by ants and other predators. The vast majority of growers to whom I speak have had little success with thrips predators. |
