| Would anyone please look at these pics of a couple of problems my roses are having? I have bright pink spots on the petals of some of my white roses (don't know what any of them are, they came with the house) and dark circular spots on the leaves of all of my roses now. Not sure if it's black spot because they are found anywhere, not starting at the bottems. They are also found on my most airy and sunny-ly located roses not the ones that were crowded and in partial shade...the red ones get dark and dryish looking on the edges that also curl up unbecomingly...perhaps I'm a hypochondriac?

| The pink spots are botrytis, a fungal infection. The purplish spots are cercospora, another fungal infection. Many red roses are best in afternoon shade to keep from crisping, but most likley they are suffering a bit from botrytis also, but you don't experience the symptoms the same as you do on white roses. There really isn't an organic preventative that works on botrytis well at all. Sulpher does help some with cercopsora, but not greatly. It will burn the foliage like the dickens in hot weather too. |
