Roses not growing..

Posted by plblum 8 TX (My Page) on

I am new to roses and planted 14 this past fall. Everything is doing beautifully except for (2) Safrano's and (1) Perle d'Or. These three are still very tiny and just don't seem to be growing, whereas other bushes are 2 2 1/2' already. They did seem and little spindly but after some feeding they are green and healthy looking-just not growing. Any ideas?

If they're healthy looking, don't worry about them. Just give them plenty of sun, food, and water. Once their root systems are established, which can take a year or two sometimes for own-root roses, they will take off like gangbusters.

I am a rose rustler .. and have planted own-root - found roses - that have taken 3 years to take off but once they did they went after the house. LOL!!!
