Little black worms on Roses!

Last year I had a small infestation of little green worms on my Roses, and learned from this forum that they were the larvae of Rose Sawfly. I used Safer insecticidal soap and it worked! This year my daughter has little BLACK worms on her Roses! Are these the same as the Rose Sawfly or something else????
