horse manure and weed seeds

I have access to fresh or well rotted horse manure but it is not heat composted so I am assuming the weed seeds are still viable.

For those who use horse manure to amend their roses, how do you deal with weed prevention?

Hi Krystyna: Yesterday I went to the stable, all they had was a big pile of fresh manure, so I didn't get any.

Last fall I got oats sprouting from the fresh manure, so I learn my lesson to get only the dark brown 100% composted AT THE BOTTOM of the pile.... which is available in fall, or very early spring.

It's only late fall that we get BS pressure, so I don't put horse manure until then. Our spring here is hot so I don't fertilizer in spring nor summer.
