Best mail order roses?

I went to the local nursery today and was very disapointed in their rose selection. I am looking for own root heirloom roses that are winter hardy. I've ordered from Chamblees in the past but they are no longer shipping this season. I tried to do a search for answers, but the search engine on this site does not seem to be working. What places have you been happy with?

Since you say on your "My Page" that you are in Idaho, I strongly recommend High County Roses in Utah. Every single rose I have received from them has been healthy and fast growing. (and I live in Maryland and pay extra shipping!)

Ashdown Roses in SC has a free shipping deal going on. I also like Vintage Gardens in California. The Antique Rose Emporium sends great, large roses (but kinda expensive), but they have stopped shipping.

Here is a link that might be useful: High Country Roses

I've ordered from HCR's and they are great. I also order from Roses Unlimited. They are still shipping and are very helpful. Call them up and ask to speak with Pat.

I too second Roses Unlimited! their roses are so lush and healthy, absolutely beautiful young roses, gigantic leaves for such young own-root plants...

Since I didn't receive any responses to this post at first, I ordered from Northland Roses in Spokane because my husband was in Spokane on business. These are by far the nicest own root roses I have ordered in years. I highly recommend them. Very large, healthy roses, and my husband said very friendly helpful people.
