Hello all, I have some roses that the leafs are turning yellow/orange. I have never tried growing roses, as a matter of a fact this is my first year gardening. Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks

Could it be from not enough water? Ya, Na

Not enough water, too much water? A nutrient deficiency? The soils pH is out of kilter causing some soil nutrients to not be available to the plant? What is going on with the plant is a symptom of the problem and you need to dig into your soil to start looking for that.

That’s kind of what I was asking! I have no experience with roses and I thought someone here would have a suggestion or wisdom of some sort.

The foliage is wilted from lack of water, or the opposite, constant waterlogging.

If the rootball breaks up when you transplant from pots, the plant may need shade for a week or so. I water recent transplants almost as if they were still in the pot-- a heavy initial soaking, then 1/2 gallon every other day, or every day if it's hot and sunny.

My plants have gotten worse!!!! I’m thinking it could be from not enough water or I used pet in the "hole" I dug. What I did is put compost at the bottom with bone meal, then mixed pet, compost, and native soil with blood/bone meal around the root ball then used the native soil again on top for moister control.

I was thinking the pet has a natural PH of 3.8 and my plants don’t have the "food" they need available to the….?

I don’t know, but I did put mulch down, it was fresh wood chips and this could have robbed my plants of their nitrogen an in return tuned them yellow!

So maybe I could feed them and adjust the PH? Just a thought.
