Gypsy Moths

I'm fairly new to the world of rose growing, and this summer my poor little buds have been practically chewed to bits by gypsy moth larvae(last summer it was japanese beetles!) Does anyone know of a safe organic way to get rid of them(short of going out manually removing them every morning!) Any advice on gypsy moths and japanese beetles would be greatly appreciated!

RE: Gypsy Moths

For the first time in ten years of roses, I am having a problem with these little critters too. I've never seen them go after roses! Is this common?

Nanirose, like any other pest, I'm starting by hand picking and cleaning up the litter around the plant. Let me know how you make out.

I'm doing the same thing...there seem to be less of them in the last few days (or that's just wishful thinking!) so maybe nature is taking pity on me!
Thanks for the input!
