how often for ladybugs

How often have you applied ladybugs to your roses? I am buying some this Friday, if things go my way. Only 250 but that should be plenty as they have about 10 roses in pots to work on and then I was going to reserve half to take to my parents' who have 7 in the ground. They all have aphids or whitefly or something that the ladybugs can chow on, but nothing severe. I have lost some of my first flush due to thrips and I have heard they will eat those too.
I just wanted to have fun with this while give my young daughters an education at the same time. Do they lay eggs while they are there so you get another generation out of it? How often do you reapply or does one clean sweep last the season (unil October sometime here). |

| I have never had to buy Lady Beetles, they just appear every year in my gardens. I would suspect that how many would be determined by how much food is available for them to eat since that is what will keep them in your garden, the more pests you have the longer they will stay. |
