What roses resist midge?

I have some bad, ugly rose midge damage on Gertrude Jekyll. Rather than resort to chemicals she's getting the bonfire treatment. :-(

I have seen a few of the larva on a few other roses- is it true that polyanthas and rugosas are more resistant? Any favorites I should try in the future?

How sad.

Silk.

Seriously, none. Midge doesn't divide by color, fragrance, class or height. it doesn't care.
