 o
replacement after cane blight?

Ok, newbie question here, but I bought an antique rose in Feb. that showed signs of cane blight not long after I planted it. Did everything I had been told like pruning affected canes and sanitizing my pruners after each cut, but by early July it just couldn't keep up the fight. So I've bought a replacement rose from a different source, of a different variety. Can I plant it in the same spot? Should I do any thing to the soil or the area besides the normal new rose preparation ritual? Thanks for all your help!

I don't think you need to do anything extra. Good luck.
