| Has anyone used or heard of a site that descibes or discourages burying rusted, worn out scouring pads around roses that seem to be prone to chlorosis? |

| No, but I can tell you why it's of little use. Rusted iron is almost entirely ferric oxide, which is normally a reddish brown and insoluble in water. Therefore, little or none of the iron is available as a nutrient for your plants. It's better to apply a chelated iron or one of the ferrous oxide products if your roses need extra iron and if the pH is in the range of 6.0 to 7.5. Otherwise, first bring the pH into this range and see if the native iron doesn't cure the problem. |
