The Espoma Tones contain some manufactured fertilizer, with Plant Tone being the closest to pure organic. I suspect Holly Tone has a good deal of superphosphate in it, more than the others, making it less desirable if you hope to foster mycorrhyzal fungi. Plant Tone also has a better N to P ratio, according to current thinking. I think if I had some Holly Tone to use up, I might mix it 50-50 with blood meal and apply 1/3 cup (8-6-4) to roses. This is still more phosphate than you need.

Holly Tone is cheeper than Rose Tone; know rosegrowers who use it succesfully because of the price difference.
