climbing rose training

Silly question--is it ok to tie/train a rose by flipping the cane around so the bloom is seen better? I seem to have the uncanny ability to plant every rose backward, so the blooms face the house, rather than the yard. Perhaps a better question would be, how the heck can you tell when planting (I plant bare root mainly) which way the rose will want to go? I use the cut down canes as a guide to which way they'll grow, but I'm wrong about 85% of the time...thanks!

RE: climbing rose training

It makes no difference how you plant the rose. Ultimately, most of the flowers will face outward and toward the light. Don't worry about it.
