Texan named Field

I haven't heard of him for years, but there is a Texan whose name is Field who likes the Cornell mixture for growing roses. Do any of you happen to know his name?

The subject came up at our church, and I know he used to live here in Tulsa. He is a huge advocate of using more homemade mixtures than purchased pesticides. I just do not remember his last name.

He has a good reputation, and I think he has written extensively, so I feel that it is appropriate to ask on this Forum.

Thanks
Sammy

Thank you so much, Diane. I just could not remember that name, and it had bothered me.

Hey, Sammy. How've you been?

I'm retired and pretty much just a lurker nowadays. But I still grow roses sans pesticides.

Go look for my book. The original (still available in some places) was indeed titled "Foolproof Guide to Roses," but there is now a new, enlarged version out, and the publisher changed the title to "Complete Roses -- a Foolproof Grower's Guide."
