Is mushroom compost good for roses?

I have some KO roses that need planting. Will mushroom compost mixed with the existing soil be good for them, or there is a better way to feed them?
Thank you.

Mushroom compost serves mostly as a soil amendment. The NPK is 2-1-2. Organic amendments are good for the soil, but your Knock Outs will need more fertilizer during the growing season. Which is not now, even in your area I wouldn't recommend fertilizing now. You can add a handful of bone meal into the planting hole. Then next spring after pruning, you can start applying organic fertilizers. There are a few products that combine organic products. Over on the main Roses Forum you had a recommendation to use alfalfa, which is a great amendment and fertilizer. Alfalfa breaks down and emits a growth stimulant, triconatol (it is good for all plants, not just roses).

Also, when you apply amendments, apply them to the entire bed, not just the planting holes. Happy planting!
