When can I pot my rooted cutting?

I have sucessfully rooted a cutting of a miniature rose.
I began rooting it at the end of October, and I have re-potted it once in a larger plastic milk carton, but in the same spagnum-peat and perlite mixture. Can I now, at the end of January, 3 months later, pot it into a terracota pot with regular potting soil? It has quite a few roots visible through the pot.
It is my only rose out of about a dozen cuttings that made it.
I am very excited and I want to plant it outside in the garden this coming spring.
Thank you for your help!

| Sandra, Congratulations on rooting your rose! That's a very nice cutting you have. I hope this is the beginning of many more successes for you. If this was my rose, I would leave it in its current container until it shows realy nice root growth ... enough to hold the root ball together during transplanting. Then you can repot it in the container of your choice, or directly into the garden if the weather is moderate enough. Connie |

Thank you Connie! I am very excited with my one little success and I hope, too, that it is the beginning of many more. I am suprised at how attached I am to this little plant. It is a real cure for the winter blues to have a project like this. Thank you for your help. Sandra |
