I also have some 4th of July seedlings as well as others. I am amazed at the difference in the little plants from the same bushes. I have noticed that some of the seedlings have red stems while others have green stems. Same with the second and third sets of leaves. So many differences. I am thinking that since there is a variety in the little bushes there will also be differences in the blooms. Guess only time will tell. Mine have been growing since December.

I won't have raised any 4th of July seedlings until this year, but I have a couple of siblings from Mme Ernest Calvat. One is only a foot high after its first year, and the other is about 3' high (perhaps it will be a climber). Both are repeat bloomers and fragrant.

No. The seedlings will be different from the parent(s) and different from each other. The only way to make the same plant is to take cuttings of that plant.

The only seedlings grown from seed that are the same as the parent are the species roses.
