Gracin, those which have already flowered are often hard enough to last through the rooting process without using a mist apparatus. For those which are too new, too soft and haven't flowered, usually they require the constant moisture of a mister to prevent them from collapsing. If you're talking about a stem which grew last year but which hasn't produced a bloom yet, it would probably work for wrapping or other methods not requiring mist. But, the primary issue with material which contains a newly forming bud which hasn't opened yet is it's too soft, too immature, to support itself without collapsing until it forms roots without the assistance of a mist propagator.
