This might be old-hat to many but this year I thought I would take a stab at propagating some of my bare-root roses by division.

Well -- I've had great success!

Some of the varieties I did this on include Denver's Dream, Playgold, International Herald Tribune, Hot Tamale and Astra.

All of these plants had grown into sizable colonies in the sandy loam soil I have them in.

On unearthing the root balls I found offsets much like little bamboos shooting off of the mother plants.

It was a simple matter of cutting off the offsets and potting them up.

All have done well and are growing into new plant.
