My new plan for Gertrude

I always have trouble propagating Gertrude Jekyll. The cuttings root, though they are more prone to rot than many. The problem is when I pot up the rooted cuttings. They don't tolerate being potted up as well as most and die soon afterwards. So this year I am going to root Gertrude cuttings in individual pots, and I think I'll root some in a community pot as usual but leave them in there for a long time so the roots are tougher and browner. I think this might help.

How have you solved problems with hard to root ones?
