I just finished planting 4 purples, Fragrant Plum, Wild Blue Yonder, Ebb Tide, and Midnight Blue.... if you go on Google and also Dave's Garden it shows an approximation of the color, etc. I don't know where you live so they may or may not be suitable for your climate, but they are recommended for here in Central Fla. sally

I'm in Maryland, 7A. I'm hoping for something low-maintenance.....

Might this be the rugosa you were looking for? (if you're not familiar with HMF, you can use the tabs at the top to see more pictures of the rose, where to buy, etc.)

hmmmm....it was thriving in northern Virginia when I saw it, and it doesn't look like this one would....

Someone suggested Hansa or R. rugosa...It looks like I'll have a lot of trouble with suckers with Hansa (which my friend didn't have...she told me occasional suckers...not many.) R rugosa doesn't have many petals...but otherwise that may be it. I don't really remember how full the flowers were on my friend's bushes.

Not sure what to do at this point...
