Any cons about using Carefree Beauty as rootstock?

| I haven’t done any grafting of my own plants so I can’t answer weather Carefree Beauty is a good rootstock or not. But I know of one person who uses one of his own seedlings from Buck a rose as rootstock. CB is a fairly vigorous rose with good hardiness so it may make a good rootstock. It may depend on how well it accepts grafts. Dr. Buck actually developed several rootstocks based of R.multiflora, but they don’t seem to be used commercially though. |

| I would suspect that some/many/most? Carefree Beautys available today are virused. |

| I think Henry's remark is worth taking note of. I wouldn't use any variety as rootstock unless it was VID or grown myself, from seed. Paul |
