have you tried to google "coldframe". I found some nice pictures of them, of course I am like you, so i only got to see them, mine looks really bad, but I hope to have a nicer one next year. I think they are really worth the effort, but will know for sure in another month or so!

Yeah, check out what you can find on google. They are not very hard to build - I built mine (but like to do small construction projects). If you need any photos of construction, I have a few of how mine was put together.

Mine was probably a 4 hour project if you have the right materials and tools on hand, and about $200 of materials. It took me longer because I set it on my patio, which is not level, and it took me a while to get it squared up to my liking.
