Also I'd like to add that I am using peat moss garden soil with some perlite. About a week ago I added some 10-10-6 rose fertilizer I found in the store. I hope that this didn't affect the cutting negatively...

Chances are, your rose cutting doesn't actually have any roots yet. Many times a cutting will use stored energy to sprout leaves without roots to support the growth ... that's probably why the leaves are wilting.

As long as the cutting is green, there's hope. I have a tutorial on my web site that can show you what to do. It's a method of rooting roses that has worked well for me, and it may work for your cutting.

It's hard to say could be a number of things-just afew suggestions that work for me-

It might be too wet. I had that problem when I first tried rooting cuttings. I've taken to using sterile seed starter mix for cuttings because everything else kept them too wet.

Might be alittle too much hot sun. Dappled sun works for me.

I read about using hydrogen peroxide water on seedlings and have started using it sometimes on new cuttings. I think it helps. (1 pt peroxide to 9 pts water is what I read and I pretty much follow that. This is just the cheapest WalMart peroxide, there are stronger grades of it that youwould mix different)

I don't believe it needs any fertilizer till it gets established a bit.
