If I wanted a long run of Hot Cocoa....

If I wanted a long run of Hot Cocoa could I tip root canes on each side of the main bush?? I havent done this before with roses but would like to try it if it will 'widen' my Hot Cocoa.

Hot Cocoa is a patented variety. It is against the law to propagate it without a license agreement with the patent owner (Weeks).

AFAIK, you can propagate patented plant varieties for your own use. You're not allowed to do it en masse. And sell it. I agree to that - if I had bred a new rose variety - yet..:-)....

Rhonda - go ahead and give it a try. Layering works with roses. The question remains though: I don't know Hot Cocoa - is it strong enough to grow on its own roots?
