I was at work one day and someone brought one to throw away. I work where people bring their trash. They said they were digging them up because they were to leggy. I pruned the dead wood on it and left it in a pot in the greenhouse. It lived and turned out beautiful. I let it just grow however it wished and cut stems off of it as it grew to get a new rose bush. I can root ya one if you would like. We are planning on having a 1000 own root roses by spring 2011 for sale.
