Winter Cuttings

I had 5 nice cuttings potted from last year, kept them over a very cold winter in my garage, took them out 1st part of April all looked green but to date none have leafed out, 3 have died. Did not have this problem last year, any suggestions what I dont wrong, still have 2 but no signs of leafing out yet.
