cuttings - are they alive

hi there, i stuck some cuttings in potting soil in plastic bottles. i have been watering/isting regularly. the cuttings have dropped all leaves. the stems are part green, part brown

i am not sure if these cuttings are alive.

help!

Doesn't sound promising, but maybe. I always pull very,very,very gently on the stem and see if I get any resistance. If there is resistance then you probably have roots, but don't do this too much or too early. Or just wait, what do you have to lose?

my cuttings are dead - i pulled out one and nothing had calloused absolutely nothing.

i think it has something to do with the potting medium.
