Transplanting rose (unknown) bush

I'm not sure if this is the best forum to post in...

Could you please share your best tips for transplanting rose bushes, and what time of year is best? I don't actually what hybrid they are, but they are trailing and seemingly healthy.

We will be moving within the year and I want to make sure I am catching all of these plants at the right time and save as many as possible.

I don't want to move them now (to an intermediate location) then again when I move, but I also don't want to get stuck moving at a time of year when I cannot transplant it.

(These actually come from a family garden and we are selling the family house, so I don't know many plant types, but want to save as many as possible.)

The main Roses Forum would be a better place for the question.

If you have a description or photos of the plants and blooms (especially if they are once or repeat bloomers), that would help, and someone might be able to identify the varieties.

The best time is late winter when they are dormant. You would trim them back, and then dig to get the largest amount of the root ball that you can. Then move them immediately to the new garden.

Some people also take and root cuttings (see other threads in this forum for more information) in case the transplants don't make it.

If you can prepare the new rose beds in advance (layer with composted manure) before transplanting, that would be good.
