Petioles with 5 leaves

Hopefully I am using the correct terminology here..

Last summer I acquired some long stems which I thought were suckers from a rambling rose. All of the leaves on the stem were in sets of 5, rather than the 3/5 combination I normally see. I cut the stems from the mother plant rather than pulling up by the roots.

I "started" some of the cuttings and have 4 which are now looking quite healthy outside in pots. But...they all have exclusively 5 leaf sets! What does this mean?

Will they ever bloom?

Thanks, Judy
