You need a Phytosanitary Certificate (from Dept of Agriculture) for roses (and other plant material) to legally ship across the border (either way). Its pretty easy passing the inspection for cuttings. Depending on where the plants come from, rooted material may need to pass more tests.

Well THAT is good to know. What concerns me is the dollar sign attached to it. I could not find that particular tidbit on the site for Dept of Ag. I guess I need a Canadian one rather than an American?

Its been a few years (and I don't remember for sure), but the inspection cost $10-$20 for going from the US to Canada. I was driving, so was able to bring lots and not worry about postage costs.

Wonder what the fee is now? I would like to get the Buck rose Quietness as a cutting. I know it is still under patent but I am chafing under the fact that NOBODY in Canada carries it. And they either don't special order or they don't answer my email (that would be Hortico. I guess I am to take that as a NO)

Have you checked out Brentwood Bay Nurseries? They don't list Quietness, but at one time they were importing from the US.
