how to care for roses

i have a rose and it is in the container. I dont know how to take the rose out of the plastic container and plant it right. So i put rose food/fertilizer in it and its not doing anything.

See the link below for directions on planting your potted rose, and for information on fertilizing (this nursery is in Maryland). The only change I would make to these directions is that I don't use any lime. Don't fertilize it again until you see it actively growing (new leaves). Make sure to keep it watered. Also, you may want to go over to the main Roses Forum if you have more questions. We also like to know where you live, as growing conditions are different depending on the area.
