Funeral roses

I pulled about a dozen cut roses off of my mother-in-law's casket flower arrangement and am trying to propagate the cuttings. Has anyone had success in rooting roses from such a source? My mother-in-law would be tickled if I raised new rose bushes from these cuttings--we were always trading plants back and forth.

RE: Funeral roses

My Grandmother had outlived two husbands. She often visited them at the cemeteries. She brought home roses she picked up at the cemeteries, stuck them in the ground, and covered with canning jars. She had a magnificent garden full of rose bushes. They were all about 50 years old. I was heart broken when I found the new owners of her home ripped them all out. I wish I had taken cuttings.
