Can you use soft water for misting rose cuttings?

Hi everyone,i have been having great success rooting roses in the greenhouse under the misters in previous years, only problem is now our water has become extremely hard,to the point that it looks brown in a pitcher, hence my cuttings that I was rooting have a brown stain on the leaves, and the sand gets a dark brown, then does not drain properly.I have a soft water line near the greenhouse, can I use that,or I also have a line from a nearby creek for watering the flowers,am I better to use that water instead?
Thanks for any help,I would like to take several cuttings, but would like to fix the water situation first. |

| Hard water is fine. Any water is fine. It just has to be water. |

| does the soft water use salt? that may be something to watch out for. Not being an expert or anything, I just know some systems use salt. |

Hi triple b ,sorry about the delay in responding, but we have been away on holidays.Yes,the system is a culligan water softener using salt,so I am concerned about salt residue harming the cuttings? Thanks,Bruce |
