Cutting rooted but no new top growth?

| Hi
I have a cutting that rooted but no top growth. The original leaves when the cutting was done are still there. Now the top of the cutting has turned black. The roots are strong and long (to the botton of the clear plastic cup). Should I cut the part that is black or just leave the rose alone? Of all the cuttings I have this is one I do not want to loose.
Thanks for any suggestions in advance on how to save this one. |

| I vote to cut off the black part, at the very least. If it's really well rooted, harden it off to outside conditions, repot it (if it needs it) and care for it as if it had new leaves. Since it kept its original leaves, I have no doubt that it will produce new growth eventually. Congratulations. May I ask what rose it is? Connie |

| Connie The cutting is of the mini I had talked to you about. I received 2 cuttings and this is the only one that has survived. I cut the black part off and repotted it making sure I did not disturb the roots as the roots today were below the bottom of the cup (I had cut the entire bottom out of the cup). The cutting was already hardened as it has been outside the entire time. When I saw the roots I took off the bottle cap. Do you think moving it from bright shade to an area where it will get about 2hr of early moring dappled light will help? Liz |
