I noticed this today on one of my crosses... Will it affect the seeds' viability?

RE: Seeds developing through top of hip?

I have the same thing happen to my Music Maker hips every year. This is the first year that I've collected and tried to germinate, so I don't know if it affects viability. I'll let you know if I get germination.

They'll be fine. They're called exogenous seeds and some roses will just do that.
