Rose Newbie question

I have three rose seedlings that I started from seed. They are about 2-3 inches tall and I planted them in the garden. I am worried about their viability during the winter and I am wondering if I should dig them up and plant them in pots and protect them some way through the winter. If so should I dig them up now or let them grown through the summer? They are unidentified roses so I don't know their hardiness.

Let them grow on. You will know if they are hardy next spring. What rose did you harvest the hips from?

I traded for some rose seed. One is an unidentified shrub rose and the other is an unidentified rose.
