New to Roses

I live in Wisconsin. I have always been interested in roses, but I don't know anything about them. Could one of you "Vets" suggest an easy starter rose for my Zone 4 winters? Color really doesn't matter much to me. I just would like an inexpensive, easy, starer rose bush.

Thank you for your help!

RE: New to Roses

Hello :o)
I am a zone 4b thus I would suggest any of the hardy Canadian roses:
Cuthbert Grant Z3
Hope For Humanity Z3
Morden: Snowbeauty/Blush/Centennial/Ruby/Fireglow/Sunrise all Z 3-4
Winnipeg Parks Z3...
You may want to look into Rugosa also:
Hansa Z3
Hunter Z4
Martin Frobisher Z3
Therese Bugnet Z2...
This season I have also meshed in Fred Loads Z4
Goldbusch Z4
Stanwell Perpetual Z3
I have had good luck with Reine Des Violettes and Gruss An Aachen, however they did have quite a bit of winter die back.
I purchased all my roses from local garden centers and online ordering:High Country Roses and Heirloom Roses. HCR carries many of the Canadian roses.
Thus far all roses listed above have been a good choice for my garden with little to no problems.
The Lioness
