Climber won't bloom

I have a beautiful orange rose climbing in front of my porch. It has plenty of support, and has grown about 20 feet in the past 2 years. I was hopeful earlier this summer,

as it got a gorgeous bloom. That was the only one!

How do I get this baby to bloom?

that all depends. it could be a "once bloomer"...do you know what variety it is? it could be that it isn't getting enough sun, or it could be young..some roses start out by putting all of their energy into roots and foliage the first couple of years, maybe more.need more info, i guess.

Just in case you didn't get the answer to your question about climber not blooming. I learned a long time ago that they won't bloom unless they are going sideways. Straight up and they don't put out the stems that have blooms on them if this makes sense.
