My cut roses from the grocery store are growing...

I have a dozen red roses from the grocery store that I have had about a week. The flowers are all pretty much gone and I went to throw them away tonight and noticed several of the roses had growth on them. There are quite a few shoots coming off of them. Does anyone know if I could actually get these to grow? If so, how do I do it? Please give me detailed instructions because I have no idea how to do it! Thanks!

RE: My cut roses from the grocery store are growing...

Hi, It has been my experience that new growth is easy to get from rose cuttings because of stored carbs in the stem. However getting them to root has been difficult. It takes just the right conditions. I finally tried layering some roses that were grafted but are capable of being on their own roots. Now it will just take time to see if it works. There are lots of posts on this forum already on how to propagate cuttings, just search for them and you'll see what it takes.
