A very good year

As some of you may remember I purchased several bare root roses at the beginning of the year. as a first time rose grower I have been very pleased with the progress of my roses. The only real dud I had was double delight, this rose is a blackspot magnet.

Congratulations!
I am surprised to hear of your problems with Double Delight. IT is one of the best roses in my garden and I rarely see any disease or insect problem with it at all. I do spray every month and my normal routine always seems proficient enough to keep fungus at bay.
Could it be your location contributing to the Blackspot?? I live in Northwest Missoure, zone 6.
What were your other roses you started this past Spring?
I might also suggest you consider looking at Steve Singer's "Wisconsin Roses" website for good roses. He sells budded maidens on multiflora rootstock. I have lots of fun with the maidens and by Fall most are large enough I can't tell any difference to bareroots. I have about 75 of his roses in my collection of about 300 roses.
Where did you get your bareroots?? I might suggest you look at Palatine Roses and Pickering Roses both in Canada for the best bareroots available this side of the pond.
Good Luck!
Blessings,
John
