Question about rooting rose, pre-callusing

I am finding out that I can get a rose cutting to callus over pretty easily, generally with better results than I get when sticking a cutting, is this a good idea, to pre-callus, and then sticking it, or is it actually going to be a problem of some sort?

I think it worth a try. You cut a bit off the skin of the branch, let it heal itself for a week or two, then cut the whole branch to insert into the soil.
