Rose hips maturing.

| Heya guys again. So if i was to leave a rose bloom and let it form hips, would they mature/ripen in warm weather? i mean i'm in a sub-tropical/tropical climate with no frost. the coldest we've been this winter was 6'C. i want to try roses from seeds! |

| Rose seeds 'ripen' roughly a hundred days from pollination. Your warm weather won't interrupt them as they ripen here in warm (comparatively) Southern California in summer. You may count the days from when you made the pollination or wait until they begin turning colors, like fruit does when it ripens. You may even wait until the swollen hips begin falling off by themselves. Kim |
