How difficult are rugosas from cuttings?

I have read somewhere that rugosas are difficult to root -- I have a couple of Hansas that I wouldn't mind getting more from. How difficult are rugosa cuttings to root?

Very straight forward. The main difficulty is they have so many prickles, and I like to clean prickles from the base of the cuttings. If you only need 4 or 5 more bushes, propagate by layering, that is totally easy. Use gloves, and an H1 olfa knife of any sturdy utility knife to make a diagonal cut in the region of a node, bury and peg down well (I use a branch with a crotch in it for the peg) Paul Mozarowski.
