| Heidi, This is a great idea but I'll be sitting out. I just got myself involved in too much for March and can't add another thing. (Oh, dear, now I am not an Ester Bunny!) I wonder if any of us will be able to swap plants by April... I hope, I hope... Have a great week. Our snow has all melted, but it sure was pretty while it was here. Jeanne |

| Heidi, Count me in and call me a wabbit. Jeanne, You can have my snow. We now have five-foot long icicles everywhere. Snow is still 2' deep, and much taller where it's been plowed. Due for another storm tonight. Only 4" the Weatherchannel says. Child's play. Many old trees down and limbs lost in our neighborhood. Especially the old pines and cedars. Neighbor leaving a tree limb down on our fence for a week. Grrrr. Called him once already. DH will call next time. No more Mrs. Nice Guy. (This is the same neighbor who agreed to LET us share the cost of trimming HIS trees a couple of months ago, then reneged on the deal hours before the tree trimmers showed up.) We paid. He didn't. Planted two flats of lettuces under lights a week ago and DH and I have had two lovely, large baby lettuce salads in the last few days. Why didn't I ALWAYS to this?? They are clip-and-regrow. Will have more in a few days. Must give a thought to dinner. |

| Eeek, someone's been sneaking pictures of me! Yeah, that's about what I look like right now- especially the FEET! My poor tootsies get so swollen by the end of the day that you can't tell they have individual toes! I still have ankles, though...so that's SOMETHING to be thankful for! :o) Carol~ I don't know what Lili is going to think about being a big sis. She's a really big mama's girl right now, but I think that will change after the baby gets here & monopolizes my time. She'll probably start chasing after daddy then. |
|
| Hope you all had a great day. I pretty much did nothing and now I am going to be in rush mode once the kids go to bed. My sister is coming to visit tomorrow so the house has to be somewhat presentable :o) Easter Bunnies (Swappers) Chocolate Bunnies(not swapping) |

| Heidi-Count me in please....What a wonderful first swap you are having. That is what is so neat about EVERYONE hosting a swap month. Such great ideas comes with each individual. Dottie-Sheesh what a cheap skate (your neighbor.) But I'm sure you are glad the work got done. Lettuce???? I am so jealous right now. Good idea on growing it in the winter. Melissa-Here's hoping for a boy for you. This couple at our Church had 3 girls and decided to try one more time for a little boy....they got him. Those girls are crazy about him and he is one spoiled little boy. I'm into remodeling AGAIN...I had the shower taken out of my master bathroom and it is being tiled this time. I cannot believe all the work for this little project. I sure hope they finish it this week. I come home to dust everywhere. I can write my name on the furniture with the dust that has settled everywhere. Shirley |
|
| Hiedi Will let you know a little later in the month, still swamped with February stuff, hope I will be caught up soon! Carol, I WANT THAT Bunny!!! wow! he is bigger than my neigbors dog!!! Jeanne Have a terrific evening everyone! Stay safe and warm! Frances |

| Carol, is that rabbit real??? I thought it must be some kind of a hoax. Shirley, we are about to launch into taking out two showers and retiling the showers and floors, as well as the kitchen. This time I am insisting on a complete wet-laid (mud base) floor everywhere. So sick of the squeeking! Am in the process of shopping for the tile now. Amazing markup from the contractor if you don't buy your own materials, I'm finding. More than double. So when you say "again", what else have you remodeled lately? Melissa, when I had two boys and found myself expecting, I was SURE the baby would be a girl. Was wrong. But he's the joy of my life and I wouldn't change a hair on his head. Just enjoy the surprise! Beauty of a sunny day here. Piles and piles of snow on the ground. Only got a couple of inches yesterday, after all. Glad to see those ungrateful bamboo still standing up. Not anxious to go help them up any more. Remy, you lucky thing! Florida in February. Enjoy! Hope you all have an awesome day!
|
|
| Remy, I'm sorry to say that it's not very "Florida" in Florida right now but I hope you have a great time anyway. I suppose it might feel warm to a New Yorker :) Looking forward to this swap...should be interesting to see what we are able to cram in those eggs! Theresa |

I haven't had many Easter bunnies in my life but with the ones I have had I ALWAYS started from the ears. It just made more sense to me somehow. I vaguely remember dipping warm marshmallows into fundip or kool aid powder while at a neighbor's house, but that was before they found out we're Jewish and stopped talking to us. (Eh, stupid people.) I don't remember if that was tasty or not, come to think of it. It sounds tasty! |

| No way I would come even close to 16 or 17. I'm impressed! Will be interesting to see the list. We had nice warm weather today and I worked in the yard for awhile. The bulbs and perennials are getting ready to do their stuff. Maybe they enjoyed last weekend's snowfall? Who knows. Anyway, a few more of my winter sowing containers have sprouted so that is good news, too. This is the time of the year when I usually start seeing results with them. I'm still planting and hoping to get as many containers done as I can. Dental pain issues, unfortunately, are continuing. I am so tired of having my mouth hurt. I had a root canal done yesterday and have some severe undiagnosed pain going on with the other side of my mouth. Will be seeing my oral surgeon next week. At this point, I would even be happy just to know what is causing the pain. I know other types of pain are bad, too, but I have had almost 2 months now of pretty severe pain in one place or another in my mouth. Really am tired of it!!! Well, just about time for bed so that's all for now. Have a good weekend. |
|
| Come on Ladies...Lets see those numbers Jeanne I am sorry to hear about the pain in your mouth. I hope that you feel better soon!! The sun has been shining here for the last two days. I should get out and do something, but I hate walking in all the snow. Hope you all are having a good weekend!! |

| Ok, sign me up! (Still looking for Plastic eggs) But I am ging to the craft store on Monday, so wish me luck! I really wracked the old brain on the "Famous Rabbits" question and I think I can come up with 19, (the joys of getting older) Funny thing is the more you think about it the more bunnies come to mind! (are they multiplying in my head?!?!? Shoot, just thought of another one make that 20! Jeanne Have a great day everyone! Frances

| Hi Sue-Glad to see you join in the fun. Heidi-I would have to cheat to come up with more than have been posted. I can't think of that many famous bunnies. Jeanne-So sorry to hear about your mouth pain and I can relate to PAIN....if it is not my back it is pain down my left leg. Can you eat with all this mouth pain? Hope your oral surgeon can give you some answers. I did have an MRI done and the back specialist says he sees nothing...all the discs look good and no nerves are pinched. On a happier note it is really warm here today....YEAH.... I plan to put on a back brace and get outside for a little while. I hope to get some cuttings potted today. My black pussy willows will be blooming soon so I need to pot some of those. Shirley |
|
| I was just sitting here thinking and have come up with some more famous little critters and now have 21 possibly 22. I can tell you my secret of recall once we are done. :) My husband is visiting our second son down in South Carolina and of course, has to keep mentioning how warm it is down there. Not something I want to hear when it is in the 30's and more snow is predicted for Monday although he will be home by then. I bought some window sill planting boxes on sale today at Meijers for 1.49 and plan to start some catgrass and herbs tomorrow. My seed starting soil was in the garage and is frozen so I have to wait. Hope you are all having a good weekend. Margo |
|
| OK I am back home. I was out shopping and I think I have all my eggs filled. Margo is our game winner!!Here is my list of Famous Rabbits. I did look them all up on the internet. By myself I think I could come up with about 5. The ones with Question marks I don't know them, but they were on the list. Peter rabbit from Beatrix Potter (also Flopsy Mopsy and cottontail) Please add to the list if I missed any. Hope you all had fun with this!! Heidi |

| I also came up with Rodger Rabbit and his wife Jessica, Buster and Babs Bunny from Tiny-Toon Adventures and the Cadbury Creme bunny. Way to go Margo! ~Laura |
|
| I had Jessica bunny too. The one I did not count was the infamous garden rabbit that raids our gardens all the time. LOL I also thought of the bunny from the book Pat the Bunny but did not count that either. Not sure if his name is "pat" but any mom would probably know who I am talking about. This was fun and my daughter and I enjoyed coming up with our list. We did argue about if it is little bunny Foo Foo or little Rabbit Foo Foo. I used to sing it as rabbit. |

| Hi Everyone, Wow there have been a lot of named bunnies! Heidi, Watership Down was a novel, I think. And Harvey was an imaginary rabbit in an old movie with Jimmy Stewart. I don't think I know 'Dillon' either. Jeanne, that whole dental nightmare is no fun. I had a lot of trouble when I was younger, and thank goodness, I found a very good dentist who sorted me out. Hope you are out of dental hell soon. Shirley, isn't the back pain thing mysterious? A friend of ours (actually my DH's ex-wife) just had surgery to fuse two spinal bones together to solve her back pain that was going down one leg. She was great for a couple of days after, then started complaining of the same thing in the OTHER leg! The snow is beginning to melt. Next week we are due for rain. Should produce a lake in my back yard. Really. A couple of seasons ago we had ducks swimming. Yesterday DH and I went to the granite yard and bought granite slabs for our countertops for the kitchen remodel. I am so excited! Have a great day everyone. Dottie |

| Margo thinks I'm famous? LOL I don't know how ya'll came up with so many rabbits. I thought of 3...! Dottie~ Ducks can't be nearly as bad as slap-happy bamboo. :P Jeanne~ I hope you're feeling better! That sort of stuff almost makes you wish you could just yank all your teeth out, doesn't it? I know I feel that way sometimes. Well, I've actually got some EXCITING news! William (my 13 year old) is in the Pathfinders group at our church (you might've heard me mention it a few times), and they have an annual "Bible Bowl". It's sort of like a spelling bee/quiz bowl competition where the pathfinders from different churches in our district compete with one another. Then whoever wins the district competition goes on to the semi-national level to compete. I do have my box ready to go, though! The kids had lots of fun picking things out, and we had a few things that wouldn't fit in the eggs, but HAD to send anyway. :o) You know how that goes. LOL Anyway~ I'm off to rest a bit. I'd been feeling sluggish & tired for the past few weeks, but thought that was only a hormonal/emotional thing....normal pregnancy stuff. Turns out that my iron count is extrememly low. The past few days it's been all I could do to get up to get a drink or use the restroom. My body aches everywhere, and I'm so tired that I just can't stay vertical (I'm reclining now, actually!). Hubby knew that wasn't normal, so he took me in to be tested. I've been loading up on vitamins & stuff for 3 days now, and I'm starting to feel a little better. I've only been awake since 8am, and have already taken 2 naps, though....so it may take awhile to feel normal again. I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

| Wow, there were lots of bunnies on that list! Shirley, I hope your back starts to feel better. We are having that beautiful warm, sunny weather this weekend, too. Sure makes you want to be outdoors. Melissa, I hope you feeel better, too. You take care of yourself... and congratulations to William. That's great! My mouth is actually feeling quite a bit better today. I hope it lasts. A few times it has gotten better and then worse again, so who knows. I really appreciate the "better" though even if it isn't permanent. LOL Dottie, I am excited for you with your kitchen remodel. We will have to do that one day. I just like to see something new every 25 years or so, you know? Hello to everyone else, too. I hope you are having a good weekend. I have tried to get outdoors as much as I can this weekend because it is too pretty to pass up. I'll bet more of my winter sowing containers will sprout soon. Of course, I still want to plant more so I'd better do that or it won't be winter any more. There is just a lot to do indoors, too. I don't know about the rest of you, but when I hurt the house cleaning, etc. gets set aside. We did give our dog a bath today while it was warm. It's so nice to have her clean and fluffy. She's about 80 lbs. so it's a big project. Jeanne |

| Hi Guys, Yeah, Bunny, the only wabbit that came to my mind was you! (And maybe Bugsy :-0 You guys' thinking of 20+ rabbits was incredible! And speaking of great accomplishments, Congrats to William! What a great accomplishment and honor. Rock on, William!! Jeanne, OMG, there's SO much to think about! The kitchen thing sounds like an easy, fun thing to do . . . . . until you have to decide exactly how many INCHES of glass mosiac backsplash you want, and WHERE will it end and how big should the sink be and should the floor tiles be diagonal or square, and what about the DOG BOWLS, and where will the lighting go, and should I buy a new table and chairs, and do the garbage disposals still FIT, and should I put the old sinks and stuff in the basement or just leave the basement work area the way it is, and WHICH contractor should I HIRE?????? One believes in 'thinset and hardibacker' and one lives and dies by mud laid tiles. One says I need 330 sf for the kitchen and one says 260. Gah!!!! DH keeps leaving the choices to me (and I'm glad, mostly), but I just hope it all comes out okay. We actually did re-do the kitchen 10 years ago, but the floor tiles all cracked and there was a class-action suit against Wilsonart countertops, because they cracked too, so they sent us back most of the money we paid, and we're starting over. Never a dull moment, here. Jeanne, what kind of dog is your 80 lb. bundle of joy? My little 30 pounder is annoyed with me for not giving her a walk today, but I just couldn't manage it. Too cold and feeling too crap. I have a dreadful cold (which DH brought home last week) and have been letting him know I am suffering greatly! (Which I totally AM!) Last night he took me to Boston Market for comfort food. Really is a comfort. Weather is warming. Lilies are poking up their heads. Water running down the street (and eventually into my yard - keeping an eye out for the ducks). Have a good nite all.

| Sorry I went MIA yesterday. Girl Scout cookies came in. Between my two troops we had about 100 cases...12 boxes per case. I will be glad when cookie sales are over the end of March!! My two boys are sick. Jace was up several times last night coughing. He gets upset which makes it hard for him to breathe and then he gets even more upset. I hope the vaporizer will help break everything up for them. So anyway...How is everyone's boxes coming? Heidi |

My favorites are the ones with the caramel & chocolate....they've changed the name since I was a scout.... *drool* Those are so good, I can eat the entire box!! I may have to go scouting for scouts! LOL! |

| Q: What are four hundred rabbits hopping backwards? A: A receding hare line. Q: What would you get if you crossed a rabbit with a bumblebee? Q: How is a rabbit like a cornstalk? Q: Why is a leaky faucet like a cowardly bunny? Q: Why is a rabbit like a cent? The Rules of Chocolate (For you chocolate lovers!!) If you get melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly. Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want. The problem: How to get two pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car. Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy? If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you? If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves. Money talks. Chocolate sings. Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger. Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous? Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done. Chocolate is a health food. Chocolate is derived from cacao beans. Bean = vegetable. Sugar is derived either from sugar beets or cane, both vegetables. And, of course, the milk/cream is dairy. So eat more chocolate to meet the dietary requirements for daily vegetable and dairy intake. |

| Hey all! Sorry I haven't been around since last week. Got caught up in "life" stuff. Birthday parties (we had 2 on Saturday), my MIL isn't feeling well so I've been checking in on her, and I've tried starting some of my seeds. So far I have 300 jiffy's started. As I'm planting them I'm thinking,"If all of these sprout what the heck am I going to do with the plants??????" LOL! I haven't even started my veggies yet, those are just flowers and bushes. I may have some of my plant swap plants for later in the year already to go!! :0) Heidi, love the chocolate rules!!! I am downloading them to send to my SIL. We are both Chocoholics, big time. Well, hope everyone has a great day. We are expecting a snow storm by the end of the week. About 12 more inches of snow. I am SNOWED OUT this year!! And getting a little impatient for spring. Hey maybe I'll go plant some impatients now, lol! I have been getting some of my "eggy" things ready. But still on the lookout for certain "somethings". This is harder than I thought, some of my stuff won't fit in the eggs. I'll figure something out though. Talk to you all soon! |

I guess Remy is busy this time of year with her seed business. I have received so many catalogs with seeds, bulbs and flowers it is hard to put them down. Heidi-Sorry to hear your boys are sick. Hope they have a speedy recovery. Dottie-I will have to post a picture of my newly remodeled shower....I really like the tile we chose. Todd my son-in-law has done a terrific job. When finished I am off to the kitchen with a new color. I'm thinking of brown. Shirley |

| Laura, did you get the big snow yet? From what I hear, we are due to get it tonight from your area AND another storm coming up from the South. Channel three said last night that even though we had 18.5 inches at one time over 24 hours earlier in the month, that this one would be the real drama. Said there will be high winds and power outages with over 12"! Gah! Heidi, I think we know what you want to find in your eggs! Shirley, Oh, Please do put up pix of your remodel! I am sooo needing to see finished work that looks good! Am not confident at all about what I'm about to do! Vina, sounds like we will be snowed in together! Mary anne, the flower show really is this weekend! I said before that it was a couple of weeks ago. Didn't get that right. Still going. Are you? Carol! You weren't supposed to tell! Sorry Bunny. I will send some Ungrateful Bamboo to sort her out! I'm off to volunteer. Actually, haven't done a thing yet except go to meetings and trainings, but maybe soon. Dottie

| Oh, I'm dying of laughter!!! Bunny, is there something you need to tell us?? *rolls over* Dottie, Our 'big snow' turned out to be about 7 inches and my professor decided she was canceling class, despite the college declaring all classes to be on. Roxanne is great like that! Most public schools closed Monday too. Right now it is snowing again, and apparently we should expect another few inches, but being Michigan most people wont notice! I think I'm the only one over about 18 who is excited for more snow, even if today's class is still on! Everyone I've talked to agrees... For moving to the snow belt voluntarily I'm crazy. (Maybe its a homosexual problem!! *snickers*) I love yall!!! |

| Hi,Ladies-This sounds like loads of fun but must pass this month. There is so much going on & I promised myself I wouldn't get strung out on too many things. Still waiting on results from some of the tests DH took for his heart. Enjoy yourselves & I will keep lurking to take part in the fun, at least. Blessings, Margaret |

| Carol-You are such a riot.....sorry to hear you are not at your best. Spring time will get you back on your toes. Hi Christine--sounds like you will be just in time for the egg swap. Heidi-Since you will be trading with Christine you might also want to be her big sister and let her know the rules and etc. If that will be ok let me know. Partners assigned on the first is ok by me. Hi Margaret-Sorry to hear you will be passing this month. Hope all DH's test come back good. Dottie-Here are a couple of pictures...I can't get the right picture overall..will try again later. Todd put a light in the top of it and I really like that. I also like the soap and shampoo additions. The shower door has to be ordered and hung and the ceiling re-painted and it will be finished. YEAH Shirley |

| Hi Guys, Shirley, Thanks for the photos! Great job on your shower. Those are exactly the niches I am trying to get for shelves into the walls. And a light in the ceiling IN the shower area will be such an improvement. I don't have that now. Is your base one piece or tiled in mosaic or small tiles? It's so lovely you have family to do these things. DH could do ours, but then it would take years. He did build me a great greenhouse in one summer. Did a super job. It will be standing long after the house has crumbled! Hi Margaret, do pop in and let us know how it's going for DH. The snow is coming down heavy again. Glad to be cozy in the house with no place to have to go. Stay warm and well, everyone. |

I'm finally done with the dentist at least for a few months.LOL I think he got his new car paid off and decided to get me out of the office. Shirley, I love the colors and tile you put it. Looks great. Bunny good to hear you laughing over there and you too Carol hugs Beth |

| Ok let me know if I missed someone. The bunnies seem to be hopping all over:o) Easter Bunnies (Swappers) Chocolate Bunnies(not swapping) I love the pictures of the tile work. My husband wants to tile our bathroom, but I know he is not patient and would probably quit before it was over. So I said Heck NO!! It's still snowing here. I think we are supposed to get about 10 inches. Anyone have a good Easter story. I will tell my favorite... I can't wait to hear any stories from you all...I am sure that bunny has a few. There is never a dull moment at her house:o) Heidi |
|
| Good Story Heidi! We used to hunt for Easter Eggs when we were children. Early in the morning before church. My mother used to paint hardboiled eggs by hand, dozens of them, some she would bake into her Easter bread (breakfast pastry similar to a danish, but LARGE and filled with fruit and nuts, she braided the dough into a wreath and garnished with the painted eggs) Then she would hide a couple dozen eggs around the living room which we would search for, they were so pretty, many lasted longer than the Easter candy because we didn't want to break the pretty shells. She would paint them with flowers and crosses and other beautiful designs! Thank you for reminding me of those beautiful eggs! Shirley, WOW!!!!! Laura and Dottie (and anyone else who has snow) I hope it stops soon!!!! BRRRRR! Melissa! It has ben a busy month here, many birthdays, many ups and downs. My MIL found a puppy on her doorstep a couple of weeks ago, sweet little thing, we enjoyed her company for a short while before a new home was found for her! (I am afraid of dogs since being menaced by a chow a few years ago (the dog was very scarey, he attacked my sister) But this little darling was so sweet, I cannot believe how stupid people are when they take little pups and kittens 'for a ride' IT JUST MAKES ME CRAZY!!!!! I gotta run, if I didn't say hello please forgive me, (HELLO CAROL! HELLO SUE!!! it has been too long) I am thinking of you all and wishing you warm weather and good fortune!!! Cant wait to see who will be my partner!!! Frances (who is busy collecting things which will never fit inside of those silly eggs) ha ha ha PS, the local Dollar store and craft store do not have any of those eggs yet!!!! AAAAARRRRRGGGGG!

| Wow no one had a funny story!! Well it is snowing here again today. My little guy is still sick. I wish he would sleep but he can't breathe. If he isn't showing improvement by Monday then I guess he will be going to the Dr. Hope everyone else is having a good Friday. I will be back later with Easter stuff...On a side note Christine and I have set up a trade. As soon as I receive my seeds I will be posting partners. Heidi |

| Heidi~ Sorry to hear your little feller is still sick! It is worse for the momma, I think, than the little ones. One med that I use for my 3 year old is Mucinex for kids. Adora gets horribly sick every year with a cold since she had RSV as a baby, and she gets so bad that she'll cough until blood comes up, and she can't sleep at night for all the junk in her chest/sinuses. Mucinex is the only thing that works for her, and it's very safe to use. I don't usually like to use meds, especially for the babies, but with Adora I have to. She always feels better within a day, and her cough is usually gone by day 3. The Mucinex for kids is at Walmart & it comes in either chewable pills or a melting powder. Adora likes the powder the best, you just pour it on their tongues & it melts. The package says not to use if under 4 years old, but I use half the package (you can pour it out in a spoon to measure it right). Her pediatrician recommended it, and I'm glad he did. Another thing that works for her is a spoonful of honey before bedtime. It helps her throat not hurt & actually quiets her cough somewhat (every little bit helps!). She also likes chamomile or mint tea. Both help her throat & the mint helps her breathe better, too. |
|
| I am voting on the Muxinex too. Last year my son was congested and coughing for a few days. I tried several things then started giving him the Muxinex. Within 24 hours, he was feeling much better. He is starting a cold and I started him on it yesterday. Margo |

| I use mucinex myself. It is very good, and I try to keep it on hand during the winter. Also, warm honey-lemon tea and soup to sip on! Dottie, love that story! For anyone who can't find eggs, check JoAnn Fabrics. Mine are almost set to go, even if I do need to tape some shut. No funny stories, but I did participate in the odd egg-hunt or two. I didn't know what it was all about, just that there was candy to be had! |
|
| Thanks for the suggestions gals. He slept with me last night so I think keeping his chest elevated helped him sleep more. He definitely has more energy today. I have a friend that is a microbiologist and she said that they have been testing for a virus similar to RSV but it hits older toddlers. If that makes any sense. He seems to have a dry cough. Does the Mucinex help that? I have never used the product myself so I am not sure. Well I will check back later. I am washing dishes and my sister is drying. It's my turn again!! Heidi |
|
- Posted by lilangel181 zone 5 (lilangel181@aol.com) on Sat, Feb 27, 10 at 13:53
| Hi Heidi, glad to hear hes doing better today! A dry cough is just a cough that isn't bringing up the phlegm. The Mucinex will help break up the crud that is stuck in his chest and he'll be able to cough it out easier. It's over the counter and won't make him jittery or drowsy, or anything like that. When I had bronchitis I would make sure to take one about an hour before bed, and I slept much better. I swear by it, and my dad the ear nose and throat doctor "prescribes" it all the time. (In high school I worked in his office.) Hope that helps and he keeps feeling better! |
|
| I will have to go get some. He is sleeping right now. This is the longest nap he has had in a week. It is still snowing here. Thank heavens the temp is at about 40 so it's not sticking to the roads. The love comes softly marathon is on today along with the wedding date. Perfect day for movies!! Hope you ladies are enjoying your weekend. |

| Happy Sunday all! Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Heidi, we too were watching the "love" marathon. Such great movies! Hope your little one is feeling better. Getting ready to start stuffing some of my eggs. I think if they are taped shut it should be okay. :0) Can't wait to see who my partner is. Still snowing....still snowing....STILL SNOWING!! We have almost 3 feet right now. Taylor (my 6 year old) went out to play and the snow in the yard is up past her waist. So she is digging tunnels. Talk to you all later! |

| I enjoyed reading the Easter stories. When I was young, our Easters always included: Easter baskets, new outfits, corsages for the women, church, Easter dinner, Easter lilies, etc. Remember the white gloves that we had for church on special occasions? Of course, at that age I was in New York and sometimes we had snow for Easter so maybe the gloves were appropriate! I had neighbors who were Ukranian and they made the most beautifully decorated eggs! I wish they had invited me over to show me how they made them. I guess I wouldn't have had the patience for it anyway though. How many of you still have Easter baskets - even for the adults? We do. Not all candy at this age, but we still get an Easter basket. It's kind of like the Christmas stockings, I'm not giving them up!!! I still dye Easter eggs too even if only my husband and I are here. Our crazy weather keeps alternating between warm and cold. I have some grape hyacinths in bloom on my front porch so that is my touch of spring for now! My husband gave me two baskets with the bulbs planted in them for Valentine's Day. Great gift idea! I am still winter sowing. I have more than 70 containers planted now and think I'd better get busy sowing lots more before it gets too warm. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Jeanne |

| Vina, you win for the snow award! Ours stopped on Friday night. It's still piled higher than a two-story building in parking lots here, and a couple of feet of it on the ground everywhere but the roads. Don't know when we'll see any plants. Jeanne, I have a friend who gives classes on making Ukrainian eggs. She had me do some one day, and all I can tell you is that it takes the patience of Job and the whole day! I made two of them, and that is probably all I will ever make! Wintersowing! I forgot all about it! I guess mine are still burried out there under the snow. Today starts the Philadelphia Flower Show. DH and I will go this afternoon. I'll try to post pix later. Um......I just previewed my post, and there are a few words that are highlighted and have links. I didn't DO that! Just ignore, please! |
|
| Jeanne I used to love those white gloves! not as pretty as my Mom's (hers had pearl buttons) but I loved them anyway. Dottie and Vina I am tired and dirty, must get a shower, I hope you will all have a wonderful evening! Frances (looking for super JUMBO sized Eggs!!!!) |
|
| The Dollar Store has several varieties and sizes of eggs. Some real cute ones too. Sunny day here after a few inches last Friday. Schools were closed too but I had to work. Only one more snow day left and they will have to start making it up. Had a shower to go to today for my future daughter in law. It was nice and there was some cute ideas for games. My daughter won a metal tin with pansy seeds. Guess who's gonna get that. :) She also won some Burts Bee stuff so she did fine. Happy week to come everyone. Margo |

| I've been reading but not posting much. This has been a busy place. My Mom made the Ukranian Easter Eggs too. They were amazing and I sure wish somebody had saved some. I remember a metal tool with a wooden handle that was used to make very fine lines. The whole procedure was very precise and I never stood still long enough to learn it. Have not been to the Phila flower show in MANY years but sure did enjoy it. With all the snow PA has had this year it would be a very welcome respite. Hope someone will post a few photos if they go. Heidi, what a bummer! Sick kids are never fun and pukey ones are a real challenge. Tomorrow's gotta be better. Hang in there Beth |

| I really don't have alot of Easter memories. The only thing I can remember doing is when I was little, the ENTIRE family would meet at my Great-Grandma's house for an egg hunt. Now, Great-Grandma had 7 kids, and all of THEM had kids (my grandma had 7, most of her brothers & sisters had between 4-5), and all of THEIR kids had kids (that'd be my generation). So by the time everyone got there, we had literally hundreds of cousins there. GGma had over 300 acres of land, so finding a place to hold the egg hung wasn't an issue- she had a 10 acre field that we'd hide them in. Hiding the KIDS, so they couldn't peek....now, THAT was fun! GGma passed away when I was 10, so we stopped having the family gatherings. There was actually quite a big feud in the family after her passing......but that's a different story! LOL We don't do much anymore, I only have 2 brothers, and one lives out of state and the other lives in his own world...so we don't get together very often at all. And I'm off my soapbox for today. LOL!

| Hi all I am back today with a better attitude. I got the Ok let me start again. I got as far as "the" and Jace puked again. I was to fast for him this time. He only puked on himself and the floor. I finally got out to the store today and gave him some Mucinex. I will let you all know how it goes. The sun is out today, but the wind is bitter cold. I know spring will be here soon. Heidi |

| I just came in from transplanting some azeleas and rose bushes. This sure is a good time of the year to be doing those things. Maybe I grumbled about this before - my beds are a mess. I just plop things in there as I buy them or they come to me in a trade and there is no rhyme or reason to any of it. Some places have taller things in front of shorter things, plants that need lots of water are in with those that don't, there is no sense of "landscaping" --- so anyway, as much as my back can tolerate it, I will do some re-arranging before the weather gets too hot. I marvel at people who have organized beds that are color coordinated, etc. Did anyone else have an issue with the new advertising? When I tried to type yesterday I was getting those new links, but I tried to opt out and I think it may have worked because I don't see them today. Hope everyone who is ailing is starting to feel better! Jeanne |

Great and inexpensive fresh foods and little Asian ladies serving. And they have baby bok choy and celeriac and the like. I love it! DH has a working dinner, and I am enjoying a completely vegetarian meal! Wintry-mix? In NC in March? Isn't that a bit unusual? We even had a nice day here in NJ, for a change. I think it hit 45 degrees. Took Dog for a walk around the neighborhood. Some bareroot plants arrived today. Still two feet of snow on ground. Must go pot them up in basement and put under lights. | Good morning all Yes I am Christine's big sis. We completed a trade and I told her all the rules I could remember. I don't think that I ever received an official list of rules so it was just the basics. | Annie, sent you a reply. You sure are thorough! :) Heidi, I'm confused! Whats the objective of the game? What size box is everyone using to send eggs? The small is definately too small, but I think they would roll around in a medium... I suppose that means I need to fit more goodies in!! (Plotting evil goodness!) |
|
| Hi Laura In regards to the game. Instead of crossing off numbers like on a bingo card. You will be crossing off your words. When you have all 20 crossed off you win. Hope that explains it better. I am sending my eggs in a 7x7x6 small mailing box. I have 2 emails so far of people playing. I will post a list of players before the game starts to make sure that everyone is included. Heidi |

| YAY! I have a bunch of words! I'm with you Heidi, I want to see how many of my bulbs will pop up, too. I planted tulips, crocus, a few grape hyacinths and a few lily bulbs. Also, as soon as the ground can be worked I have a few more lily bulbs to plant that were kindly sent to me over the winter, and which I'm just dying to see bloom. In other news... batch 1 of the basil sprouted yesterday!! *dances* Teensy little green specks of potential. They're under lights in the office now, and dreams of pesto running through my head! (Oh how I love fresh pesto...) |

| Hi everyone........ Heidi-You are doing great on the words...keep up the good work. What a gorgeous week-end we had here. DH and I got one of our huge flower beds cleaned up. All to do now on that one is to fill it with pine needles. We have to rake them and haul to the flower bed so that is lots of work also. Christine-I have your eggs almost ready to go. Shirley |

| Hi All, Homosexual - Hormonal, LOL! It looks like you all have been having good fun! I would of never guess that many rabbits. I read at the beginning that we had until the 5th to join, but then the day after I posted, names went up. I was confused, but I didn't write anything. Since I read through all the posts I see it was upped. It is ok, it wasn't make or break if I didn't join the swap. You all would love to go to the Broadway Market that I've spoke of before before Easter for the Ukrainian and Polish eggs. They are so beautiful. Oh and the Polish pottery and all the yummy food too. I'm just old enough to remember the white gloves and the dresses, etc. It would be nice if everyone got all gussied up like they used to. I hope everyone who is in pain or sick , is better soon! Margaret, Dottie, Shirley, Laura, Melissa, Ok, got to go for now, |
|
| My box is ready and all I have to do is get to town and mail it. I am heading in the opposite directions today but we have a 24/7 kiosk so if I get a chance, will send it later. If not, tomorrow. Then I will be back to post the DC. The sun is shining bright here today. Unfortunately, the drifts on all my bulbs are in the front where we just get morning sun so it may take a while for it all to melt. I have actually been shoveling off the tops little by little to help nature along. The foliage has been coming up even with the snow all over it. Determined little things. They are as anxious to see the spring as I am. Happy day to everyone. Margo |

Annie~ I did get your email. I just have to pack in a few more things and then it will be in the mail!! Laura~ how do you make pesto? I hope to take the boys outside today. Its a little chilly but that fresh air helps them to sleep better at night. I will be back later with our Bingo word Heidi |

| Remy, I came across your website the other day. I knew you had a new business but I didn't know you had the perfect business. Congrats and I hope it's going well for you! Heidi, I make pesto by stuffing basil leaves, olive oil, and a little bit of red bell pepper into my small food chopper and blend like crazy. Some people use pine nuts but I never have those on hand. When everything has a 'saucy' consistency I pour it into a labeled freezer bag and lay it flat. Then, when its frozen I can break off pieces whenever I want, or throw a chunk into a recipe that calls for fresh basil. Its very easy and very yummy! I'm almost out of my batch from October (I've been rationing all winter) but I refuse to buy pre-made pesto because it's so expensive. Vina, I'm glad you're waiting for Taylor to open the box, because I put something in there for her, too! |

| Carol, have you received your box yet? This is the second swap where it has taken a week for my boxes to get where they are going!! I am very perturbed at the postal system right now. If this continues, I will NOT be swapping plants this year! UGH! |
