| Good morning! :) WOW! We are off to a terrific start! Welcome! Welcome! jayw1957, newbies are always welcome to join in on the fun. Alana, Annie and Ellie...the more the merrier! :) Who doesn't love Valentines? The cards, the candy...the candy! :) Annie, I received this card when I was a newbie, when we did the Secret Valentine Swap. I just loved this poem so much that I put the card in my garden binder for safe keeping. My daughter was using my binder the other day for a school project, and came across the card. I believe it was fate because I was trying to come up with a theme for this month. Sending Valentine's :) : I think we have enough players for a game, but I'll wait till Saturday to post, to give any other sign-up'ers a chance too. :) Talk to you soon! |

| I'm joining in. Thanks, Vina for a fun swap idea. I ordered the flat rate bubble envelopes after you suggested them & received the box last week, so have plenty to fill this year! Can we be creative like this? ...... diant H us How will we know if our partner likes chocolate or prefers caramel or fruit flavored candy? My favorite candy is cinnamon tic tacs and that dates me a bit because they're hard to find. I found the Christmas ones included cinnamon with the white mints. They last for years, so why not? Also didn't want to pack anything right now & send some germs along with it. That would be a horrible valentine!! So I'm waiting until we've been feeling better for at least a few days before trying to put my package together. |

| Afternoon! Happy Friday! Bunny, so sorry you and your bunch are feeling so yucky! I agree, I think the weird weather shifts are why colds and things are lingering on and on this winter. I have been having feelings of allergies (watery eyes, blocked nose, etc. ) most of the winter. That never happens! Usually it lasts about a month in the fall and a month in the spring, till the weather sorts itself out. Not this year! Today it's 40, and tomorrow in the single digits...then next week...I see back up in the 40's. This is totally unheard of for Upstate NY. We usually have at least a foot of snow right now? The weather around the country has been a little whacky this winter to say the least. Can't wait for spring! :0) CONGRATS ON THE 2 BINGO WORDS!! Does anyone else already have some words on the board? Only 1 more day for sign-ups and then PARTNERS!!!! :) I'll be posting them on Sunday :) THE VALENTINE BINGO WORD FOR FRIDAY IS: BEST FRIENDS Valentine Bingo Words Drawn: Talk to you later! |

| I have one word, too. Vina, how did you survive the sleepover? I imagine you're toast today, but thankfully there's another day of weekend to recover. U R brave! Thanks for hosting the swap. Melissa, how many more days/weeks until your baby is due? I've been thinking of you as our son had his 18th birthday last week and our daughter turns 21 next month. I was pregnant this time of year twice. It seems like just a moment ago I was counting those last days of pregnancy. Have a great Valentine week everyone! |

| Oh my, I've been so busy, I totally forgot that bingo words were beginning. I do have two so far so not too bad. We took our son down to a special brunch for students who will starting at the University of Cincinnati this fall. It was nice. Learned some new facts and had a good lunch. The best part is the time spent with our son. We left late Friday and got a motel since we needed to be on campus by 8:30 and it's a three hour drive. The weather was decent too but cold. Shirley, we're just bouncing packages back and forth, lol. I have your address so no worries there. Have actually started on the package so need one more thing and it will be on its' way. | Yay, got another bingo word! :) My hubby surprised me with a valentine's treat last week. He took the day off work on Friday, then while I was out getting groceries, he packed up the kids and took them to Grandma's. When I got home, he told me to pack enough clothes for 2 days. He had booked a room at a local inn for 2 nights! When we got to the room, he had a huge bouquet of roses & carnations and a box of chocolate turtles waiting. |
|
| Two more Bingo words. Bunny, that was a nice thing your hubby did and very deserving. Sorry you didn't feel better. I am doing three swaps this month and will be boxing all three and getting them mailed by Thursday. Will post DC for this one asap. | Good Afternoon! Bunny, that is such a romantic story! My husband is not the romantic type...I won't even go into the story about how I got a new set of tires for my birthday one year. This was before we got married, so I knew what I had coming, lol! So sorry you felt so under the weather. Margo, I know exactly how you feel about a lot of swaps this month. I must have been crazy! I am signed up 3 going out now. 1 more that I'm waiting for my seeds come from an order, and 2 private swaps. I also hope that everyone gets the right package, lol! But, trying to get in the last seed swaps before I start sowing is too tempting to pass up :) THE VALENTINE BINGO WORD FOR WEDNESDAY IS: RED Valentine Bingo Words Drawn: SENDING ORDER :0): poisondartfrog sends to cryptid**SENT** This Sunday is my official seed sowing day...YEAH!!! I can't wait. This afternoon I'm going to start setting up all my shelves, trays and all that wonderful misc. stuff that I've had packed away since last summer. I think I'm more excited right now than at Christmas! I've got my seeds MOSTLY in order of what I'm sowing. I need some more soil. Even my kiddos are excited to help this year. Billy can't wait to stir the big spoon to mix my potting mix and Taylor is going to make labels for every pot. :) They are both getting their own trays to start whatever they want too this year too....can't wait till Sunday! :) Have a super day everyone! |

There was a cute miniature hummingbird feeder,Easy grow flower seeds - 3 pkg., chocolate, red gardening gloves and a gnome, tea and a tote bag which is really going to come in handy when I go to California this fall to the National Heirloom Exposition at the Sonoma County Fair grounds. I needed something lightweight so I am not carrying around a heavy bag filled with stuff. Thank you so very much Melissa for the Valentine. Ellie |

| Vina, I admire your family event of planting seeds! I need to get my family on board like that doing a mega planting session. I was so glad I didn't have any winter sown jugs outside during our ice storm because they would have been crushed. I'm still picking up the mess outside. I uncovered a Pulmonaria the other day in the backyard & it was blooming pink smiles at me! I was so excited I yelled out & my son wanted to know what was wrong. Nothing, just excited I see a pink bloom from under that mess! Last week we had mild weather & our friends' were out of town, so could lend their truck. Then I talked my guys into hauling horse manure + bedding to our edible gardens. Most of it was done by my son & I during the day. We managed to get 7 pick up loads over 3 days. By that 3rd day we only did one load because the garden is full & my son was too sore. My hubby cleaned up our friends' truck superbly & filled up the gas tank so that they will lend it to us again for other garden hauling. I want to winter sow some perennials and some cold weather vegs.... BUT, we have things to be done 1st ... --bookcase switcheroo as we bought one to swap with the family room one & put one in the spare bedroom for my crafts & gardening stuff (books, labels, notebooks, etc.) --food prep as son is having a group of friends over tomorrow night for teriyaki chicken & sushi. Teens can really eat, so I have work to do after I get the bookcases switched. I worked 2 substitute teaching jobs plus my afterschool job and had a 4-H meeting this week and teach at our homeschool co-op tomorrow, so am exhausted already before this party. Plus call me crazy or what? Hubby & I have made plans to go to my favorite nursery & buy 50 primroses for $50 (& use a $10 off coupon), then bring them back to camp to plant in the entrance gardens for some spring cheer. Things are finally looking much better after the storm, but the primroses will be great!! Rose, I have some fun HEART things ready for you in an envelope and though I thought I could go out to dig plants for your shade garden I am 2nd thinking it all. I might just add some seeds to the packed envelope. I hope I have energy left after this week to get a picture & pack it up to go out on Monday morning. I want you to get it soon! The songbirds are singing every morning and busily building their nests already. Spring is on it's way. Corrine |
|
| Rose - your HEART package is going out today in a flat rate bubble envie (Thanks Vina for suggesting to use them.) I skipped taking a pic & you can post one if you'd like or just list the contents. I couldn't get myself to dig anything up in the rain yesterday, so there are seeds inside instead. We didn't switch bookcases after all & that helped me take the time to package up your HEART. I'll post the DC # tonight after I mail it today. Corrine |

I'm going to try to do more WSing, altho our weather is more like early spring here - I keep waiting for the axe, uh, I mean, the snow to fall! AND!!! I got my HEART from Margo today! Margo, what a great package! I received: a pair of pink heart slippers, red gladioli bulbs, Avon moisture therapy handcream, a chocolate/marshmellow heart, hand sanitizer, a "go red" pin, "hot lips" chip clip, and a beautiful glass vase with red roses on it! AND 6 packs of valentine/heart themed seeds: candytuft, pink malva, pink dragonflower, evening primrose, pink baby's breath and King of Hearts bleeding heart. I think that takes care of the lack of pink in my flower gardens! Margo, thank you so much! Hope everyone has a great weekend! Shirley! |

|
| DC # 0310 2640 0002 3118 6665 for Rose sent on Friday with expected arrival Tuesday because Mon. is a holiday. Today, instead of 50 primroses we just bought 8 because I couldn't use the coupon & decided that was too much. All day we had wind, rain & only 39 degree high, so I didn't plant them. Had a great day with hubby at another gardener's place, nursery, hardware store, & Fred Meyer bringing home some necessary things including a new watch for me & a strawberry pot to plant sedums for hubby. Corrine |
|
| I have another Bingo word, 4 more to go. Shirley, so glad you enjoyed you package. I always enjoy putting them together but worry it is enjoyable for the receiver. Corrine, don't you hate it when there are stipulations to the coupons? What difference does it make what you use it on? I am sure they can afford the loss. I hope your 8 do good for you. Heard from Cryptid and since the post office is closed tomorrow, I am sure his package will arrive on Tuesday. I always enjoy his packages so looking forward to it. Hope everyone had a great weekend. My daughter came home from OSU for the weekend. She and I have had an enjoyable time. Did some shopping because I needed an outfit for my aunt's memorial next weekend. JC Penneys was having great sales, bought a new pea coat, pants, three tops, and a pair of jeans for daughter all for 57 dollars. Haven't bought myself anything new in awhile so was pleased with my deal. Margo |

| Happy Presidents Day!! Sorry I was MIA yesterday for Bingo. I was seed sowing all afternoon..teehee! :) It was a super awesome day! The kids and I managed to get 150 jiffies sowed. We are going to do some this morning too. This afternoon we're going to the zoo :) Shirley and Ruby Bingo words are sent. :) So glad to see all the packages flyin'. Corrine can you still use the coupon for something else at a later time? Margo, $57 for all that. What a deal! I love Penney's. I alway shop there. They have some cute kids clothes too. 2 bingo words drawn today. THE BINGO WORD FOR SUNDAY IS: ROSES THE BINGO WORD FOR MONDAY IS: STUFFED ANIMALS Valentine Bingo Words Drawn: poisondartfrog sends to cryptid**SENT**REC'D** Have a super day! |

| Only 4 more bingo words left for me & 9 more days of February. Did you all notice it's leap year? What are you doing on Feb. 29 -- your extra day? I've not decided yet because I'll be out of town at a conference for our camp Sun-Wed that week & not sure what energy I'll have left after our 3 hr + drive back home through traffic in 2 large cities. I wish the conference would end at a different time. Oh, well. Yes, saving that coupon until the exp. date 3/31/12. I might feel "rich" and spend it later. Their prices on plants & supplies are a bit higher. Hellebores were 12.99 in a square pot taller & a bit larger than the standard 4" pot. At a local hardware store they were $8.99 I think. I most remember the heuchera because they were 4.99 at the hardware store & 2.99 at Fred Meyer compared to 8.99 at the nursery. They appeared the same plant material, pot, labels, etc. You have to be careful with plant lust while shopping there. Have a great day, |
|
| Vina, thanks for emailing the Bingo words - I have 5! Not that I ever win Bingo! I'm trying to get some WS done today, it really feels strange because it is a beautiful day here, bright and sunshiny, at least 45 degrees. I've done all the salvias and agastache, and I have jugs for everything else except the milkweeds-will need to do some creative thinking for those! Corrine - I love to go to the nurserys and see the high prices for plants that I've WSed for pennies! Hey, back into it! Shirley! |

| THANKS! FOR SENDING MY BINGO WORD LIST TO ME AGAIN, VINA. |
|
| Received my H-E-A-R-T package from Alana (poisondartfrog) - Girl, your wonderful package arrived in excellent shape, but nearly gave me a hernia carrying it into the house! I do declare your package is the heaviest I have yet received from a round robin, or any other GW swap! Small wonder why, considering the following contents: From Alana's included list... H is for Hummingbird-a tiny feeder is enclosed. The hummingbird feeder is really, really kewl! Smallish, yes, but brilliantly so, particularly considering we do not have any other hummer feeders hung-out at this time. Red Achillea millifolium seeds (Cherries Jubilee Mix). Gorgeous! :) Rosamond Coles Canna (3 big, heavy, glorious bulbs). Man-O-man,...these are beauties for true! Our neighbors will definitely appreciate gazing upon them as much as we! Thunbergia alata (Black-Eyed Susan Vine - Spanish Eyes). Y'know, I've had these seeds before, but I didn't get to keep any, owing to the fact that I gave and traded them all away to others. But now,...they're baaaaaack! Lovely! :) Also, Alana included a generous amount of Viva Lindsey's Kentucky heirloom tomato seeds, Summertime Gold Heritage tomato seeds, a red floral accented expandable vase, and a ziplock full of Dove chocolates (instantly snagged by Elly nearly at the speed of light). Since I'm allergic to indoor flowers (and floral shampoos anymore), the expandable vase will be filled with the packaging alternate suggestion of "decorative gems or stones" and artificial flowers. Alana,...you totally rock, girl! Thank you so much! Sorry it took me this many daze to post about your package, sincerely. I've been kinda messing-up a lot, lately. I always send on time, though. Thank you so verrrrry much for all of the fantastic goodies, and for your creative attention to theme detail! Incidently, y'all, the Elephant's Ear corm and hummingbird feeder were both swathed in red tissue paper. Nice touch!

| Happy Tuesday! :) Corrine, got your email. Such a wonderful idea for March. Love it! Shirley, I totally agree. I love going to the greenhouses and looking over the price tags...and then saying "got that"... "got that". For pennies on what you would pay for the plant...and the best part, I can remember getting them in trades or Round Robins on the GW. That always make my plants more special. :) Last summer when I had the Master Gardeners do a class at my house, the biggest question was where do you get such variety? BIG SMILE I said the Garden Web of course :) Wow! Cryptid! That sounds like an amazing package! BINGO WORD FOR TUESDAY: SNUGGLE Valentine Bingo Words Drawn: Remember, first to get all 10, and to post here first gets BINGO! :) We are getting close! poisondartfrog sends to cryptid**SENT**REC'D** Went to the zoo yesterday. | I received a TERRIFIC valentine from Shirley today! She sent a very creative selection of goodies! First of all (and most importantly!) CHOCOLATE! YUM!! H- Helenium seeds |
|
| Melissa, glad you liked the HEART! I hope the chocolates weren't squished! Hope the seeds do well for you! Vina, I was outside checking the gardens today, and I found myself thinking "How did that get here", and "where did that come from" and guess what, they were all from swaps and trades that I did over the past year! I got some really pretty plants. It's going to be exciting to see all of them blooming this year. I hope the Hardy Geranium comes back, it was from Rose, and the groundhog buried it while digging it's hole. I filled in the hole and can only hope the plant comes back. It was a beautiful lilac color. I did get some seeds. And all the iris's you and someone else sent are poking their heads up! So are the Salvias that Alana sent. And the squirrels didn't get the mini tulips and daffodils in the front bed! YES!!! One victory for me! Shirley! |

| I had both of those today, so now just 2 to go. I bet someone else is closer or will win today! Vina, you've got me on edge waiting for another word. I'm leaving for a conference today, but can check GW only at the lodge or large meeting room where I'm going because it's not available in our room. Asking (begging) our son to lend his because hubby's laptop from work is such a dinosaur it took 10 minutes to power up. Corrine |
|
| One more letter and I will have Bingo. Must remember to check tomorrow and then if my last word isn't chosen, I will have to take my list with me. I am heading to my son and dil's house to dog sit for a few days. He called to tell me he spotted a coyote down in the gully behind their house. My daughter stayed Friday night and heard it howling. Oh goodie, now I am going to be creaped out after dark. Their smallest dog would be an appetizer. It wouldn't be so bad if they had a fenced in yard. |

| Happy Monday! WOW! Traveling BINGO! lol. This game is getting interesting. Corrine, have fun at your conference. Margo, I couldn't agree with you more about the coyote's. When I was little they would be right in the horse pastures yipping when we would be in the barn bedding them down. Now, here they are again. You can here them across the road yipping like crazy at night. And worst of all, the kitty that I have been feeding for 2 years now is missing. Taylor named him Autumn, after a book she was reading, "For the Love of Autumn", a very cute book about a kitty. Anywhooooo he is NOT an indoor kitty, he loves the "wild". He would show up every morning for breakfast and every night for dinner. And that is about as close to him as we could get. But for the last week, nothing. I think he turned up a coyote dinner. Last night Taylor even left our back deck light on for him all night hoping he'd show. :( I am still hoping. Rose, Our po closes for 1 1/2 hours for lunch. Who takes 1 1/2 hours for lunch? And I wonder if they are being paid for it? Okay, now to some seriousness....BINGO! :D THE BINGO WORD FOR MONDAY IS: ARROWS Valentine Bingo Words Drawn: I hope this helps someone. A little love, laughter & appreciation sure makes life more fun for all of us and it is free! Robin - did you have a DC number for the pkg sent? | Congrats Margo for Bingo. I have been so busy and going to doctors that I haven't paid much attention to the game. Today I had an echo test and Thursday a heart cath test. Oh well for the golden age they say. Was looking forward to more winter sowing but I am not going to scrap snow just to get the jugs level on the ground so they don't tip. Hoping it will go away but there is another big storm coming on tomorrow night. Would be nice if the weatherman was wrong. Have a great day everyone! Ellie |

| Happy Tuesday! WE HAVE A WINNER!!! :D MARGO!!! I double checked and you are the Big VALENTINE Bingo W~I~N~N~E~R :D Can you please send me your addy and I will be getting out your Supa Dupa Prize this weekend. Shirley, I was out the other day doing the same thing. Putting back my flower tags took longer than I thought with the ground still a little frozen. So I put them under rocks for safe keeping. I planted a tiny, I mean teeny tiny, little yellow foxglove baby that I got from a friend of mine. I was so astonished to see that it has at least tripled in size. It is planted in the back of the house, by the foundation, where there is very little snow and no wind. Is it possible that it could have grown over the winter? I was just shocked to see it. Ruby, that sounds like a terrific HEART. Chocolate and Butterflies! What more could you ask for??? Corrine, your right! I love to laugh... and best of all IT'S FREE :D Ellie, I hope your feeling better. There hasn't been that much of a winter to do "sowing". I do jiffies under lights, but have been wondering with such a mild winter are the ws'ing jugs outside bursting with bloom or are they not growing at all because they don't have the snow for insulation? I also would like to remind everyone about the rate and review forum. We don't do it nearly enough on the round robin, and for some of the newbies, it really helps to establish them. Thanks! SENDING ORDER :0): poisondartfrog sends to cryptid**SENT**REC'D** Just waiting for a couple more and we can wrap this up :) I just want to thank everyone for such a fantastic swap. You guys have made hostessing this month super fun. And I can't thank you enough. Have a great day! |
|
| Ruby, I'm glad you enjoyed your HEART. And again..sorry it took so long. |
|
| Vina, thank you and I will send my address as soon as I finish my post. First I want to say I hope we don't have any members who were in the line of that tornado in Branson, Missouri, last night or in the line of the damaging storms that are going through the country. I made it to my son and dil's last night and all is well. Thank goodness for alarm system as I am always freaked out at unfamiliar places by myself. Not that three dogs aren't a good alarm system. I have not seen the coyote either but trust me, I don't stay out there that long. We had storms here last night and they have one dog who freaks with storms but she did ok. More headed here today along with high winds. I hope there are no problems. At least it is bringing warmer temps. Still can't believe the mild winter we are having. Stay safe everyone and thanks again to Vina for another great swap. Thanks for the reminder on the rate and review reminder. I totally forgot to rate the swaps this month and they were all fantastic. | My HEART arrived yesterday. It's been a challenging week with more to come, so it was a pleasant interruption. Rose appealed to my sweet tooth with dark chocolate covered Fortune Cookies, a heart shaped box of chocolates and a huge chocolate bar. Two duck bubble necklaces added a whimsical touch. There was some special soil for the very choice seeds she included, among them pink and yellow ladyslippers and chili peppers from Sweden. I am thrilled with them! I know I have not done this fine box justice, but it was a very special one. Thanks! |
