I want to let everyone know that after doing a little research on the first thread. I decided not to wait for the lost players because I hadn't had/seen a posting or email in at least 6 weeks!

Jaynine, I want to thank you again for your HUGE contribution to the swap! I think that next year this should be Lisa/Janines commercial seed swap! Sadly, you have 75% of the seed I had to share and nothing from your list came in except for the couple that I ordered. We both shop select seeds too much! I will be paying for your envy to get back to you and I will put another package together as I do all my annuals for the office. Again, nothing from your list but you might be interested in some of them. I'll contact you with a list when I get sowing.

A little twist to the swap this year!

After listening to me complain about having all these extra seeds, my husband had an idea. Well, his first idea was to trash all the extras! We all know that we can't do that! This is what he came up with and agreed to pay for it too. haha

I was going to wait to post but I am going to post now while I know all players are still visiting this page..

I have a bin here with probably 200 packets of seeds that I didn't find homes for and I certainly don't need more seeds than I bought this year! As I said in the beginning, I had lots to get rid of and not a ton of wants! I still have lots of veggies, morning glories, some mixed zinnias and a few odds and ends that are cool but was not seen on a list. I didn't want to just eat up peoples extra postage for common seeds that were not on their list.

I would like to have you all take the items from your wish list off when you get your package and add any that you might like to try to your wants list. If I have seeds here that you have listed, I will mail them to you on me, okay on my hubby but whatever!!!!. I will take it on a first come first serve basis.

This is how it will work. I check my email every morning while having my coffee, so at any time after the 10th but before the 13th you can email me and let me know that your list is updated..I will check wants list by who emailed first..I don't know any other way to be rid of the extras and to be fair at the same time!

If I can't find homes for the leftover seeds, I will offer them to a newbie and send them to them on me.

I don't want anyone to be upset, I just don't want the seeds myself!

LOL....the HUSBAND wanted to trash the seeds...bad boy! I know darn well you would not let that happen! BUT, his idea is very generous, so I will give him some latitude...chuckle! Men are an "interesting" study!!!

I think this a fun idea and very fair, BUT I am happy to pay for the postage...so let me pay. Please ask your husband if that is OK...LOL!

Just got back from grocery shopping and found my bag of seeds waiting on me! Lisa, you outdid yourself! I think I got a pack of seeds for everything on my wants list! And a special thank you for the extras, especially the lantana and rocket larkspurs-they were an excellent antidote to grocery shopping!

I guess I left out the part where he said "I have no problem paying to mail them to people IF you will stop your b*&*&ing about what your going to do with them! lol I really wasn't complaining that much, or was I...No, he really is good, he told me to just send them from the start and pay the difference. I just didn't feel that it was fair to dump all these onto the people that had sent extra postage, including you!

Sjc, I knew that you would like your package, you had a swap hostesses dream for a wish list! I was not able to send you joe pye but I do have it growing here but didn't collect seeds this year. I have both kids home and didn't have an extra room for seed drying this year..Feel free to hit me up in the fall next year!

Primrose, I hope you are as happy as you say, I know some of yours were at 8/10 seeds. I had ordered some white blooming flowers for the office and dipped into them to send a few of you white bloomers and some only came with 20 seeds per packet.

I'm looking forward to others posting that the seeds made it home, this is the best part for me.

AHHHH,

I'm glad to see that seeds are making it home. I always worry about lost packages. I just did a quick check on all the packages and there are only 7 packages that have not made it home yet. I'm waiting to hear that they have the seeds in hand!

I had a few players that probably won't be thrilled but I try to swap annual for annual,perennial for perennial and so on. I had a few requests for flowers only but veggies were sent in by the player or all perennials and only annuals were sent in. I'd like to explain why I can't grant wishes like that.

Lets just say I have 3 players in the swap. Susie doesn't grow veggies so she sent in 100 packets of flower seeds, Sally sent in 100 packets of veggies but requested only flower seeds in return. Diane sent in 50 packets of flowers and 50 packets of veggies. This leaves me with 150 packets of flower seeds and 150 packets of veggie seeds. I can send Diane 50 packets of veggie seeds and 50 packets of flower seeds just like she sent in, only different varieties.I now have 100 veggies and 100 flowers. I can't possibly send Sally 100 flower packets because that would leave susie who doesn't grow veggies ALL veggie seeds. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you sent in all annuals and asked for all perennials, I couldn't do it. If you asked for all unusual and sent in all common, again, I couldn't do it. I try to keep the swap fair all around, I hope you all understand!

I think that next year I will write my own set of rules for the swap (I used the ones from the 2008/9 hostess)and hopefully make it a little easier on me....LOL

Oh My Lisa,

I got it! I got it! I got seeds today! What a cool assortment of herbs, vegetables and flowers. A few of them are foreign to me. I love surprise and will be checking them out in the morning with my pot of coffee, alone and in peace. So many times I have received seeds that I had never heard of or never thought I would grow. And now they are favorites of mine. I am absoloutley in heaven with what you sent me!

Hooray! I have been looking at the USPS to see where my seeds were at since they were delivered yesterday according to the PO....and they didn't come. I was thinking that the mailman delivered to someone else since it has happened before and I always get other peoples mail. WELL TODAY here they came. I stopped winter sowing to go through the package. Thank you so very much for the wonderful assortment of seeds. This must have taken you a long time and I truly want to thank you. Oh my gosh! Today I finished planting all those seeds under the gro lights. Thank you again Lisa for all the work sorting. I am going to have a beautiful garden this year if Patches (my dog) doesn't dig everything up. He sees me digging and thinks its ok for him to dig also.
