| 2nd THREAD
FOR NEWBIES:
2~ The Newbie will be adopted by ONE (1) experienced gardener. 3~ The Newbie will be required to send a box of gardening gifts to his/her adoptive gardener, in exchange for a box of seeds, plants & good gardening advice. This box can contain gardening tools, magazines, gloves, lotions, decorations, windchimes....anything pertaining to gardening & things that your adoptive gardener will enjoy & find useful. 4~ The Newbie will send his/her box out in the month of APRIL, to be received by his/her E.G. BEFORE the end of that month. FOR EXPERIENCED GARDENERS: 1~ An experienced gardener is someone who has been on GW for more than 3 months and has seeds, plants and advice to share. 2~ An experienced gardener can adopt up to TWO (2) Newbies, but keep in mind that you will be required to send a box of plants & seeds to each. (when you sign up, please send me an email letting me know how many Newbies you'd like to adopt) 3~ Your box should be sent only AFTER receiving a box from your Newbie. Please make sure that you include growing instructions & tips with your plants/seeds. 4~ The E.G. will send his/her box out in the month of MAY, with the Newbie receiving that box BEFORE the end of the month. The swap is open until we reach our capacity for Newbies (i.e.: as long as we have enough E.G.'s to adopt the Newbies, we'll take new sign-ups.) Right now, we're nearly at full capacity. We will take NEWBIE alternates, though, in case one or more Newbies does not fulfill their requirements. I ask that all Newbies please send me an email, containing your address, zone & plant/seed preferences (if any). PLEASE keep in mind that the Experienced Gardeners will do their best to send you things that you will like, but THIS IS NOT A WISH FULFILLING SWAP, and it is NOT possible to give you your hearts desire. (however much we may wish to do so.) :O) NEWBIES:

| Hi everyone, I'm still here and still wanting a newbie to adopt! Bunny, when will we know who we are sending to? I would love to request someone if that's what will happen. I've looked at some lists and have a special something and same zonish as one of our newbies. I'm getting two puppies today but will check in and see how the partners will be paired up sometime in the next day or two. Have a great day all! |

| Thanks for all of the advise on the other thread about the mail lady. Cindy, you are too sweet to offer fencing :-) I think I will stop by Menards in the next couple of weeks and look at stuff like that. I have called the PO. I have talked to her, and I have raised my voice a bit at her. She just doesn't care. People around here really don't understand gardening. You think they would seeings this is a farming community!!! But, who knows!!! I thought about just moving my mailbox. I would rather inconvenience myself than sacrifice my plants. I am getting excited about doing this swap! I can't wait!!! Carrie |
|
| Carrie you are welcome if you change you mind just let me know.. Cindy |

| Hello again, I posted this in the first posting but did not get a response as to whether I will be allowed to join. Original post: Oh I see I am too late to join this. I haven't been able to join in much of anything since I joined in on the fun of the Card Swap in Dec. Could I be a newbie backup? I joined in late Nov and I don't have any plants other then a few unnamed irises and daffodils don't think too many are looking for those. At any rate if not, have fun everyone. This looks like it will be a fun swap. Thank you, DD I contacted hazelnutbunny by email so I will be waiting on a reply thank you, DD |

| Hi DD~ The rules for the swap are 3 months or less for Newbies, and since you've been a member since last November, I'm afraid you don't qualify. We'd still love to trade with you, though....So please come on over to the MNF forum & tell us about yourself! Ms Kathy is about to post the new swap for April, so you are MORE THAN WELCOME to join in the fun! MNF is a fantastic group for everyone, and especially newbies. :O) Hope to see you there! |

| ummm, Bunny? that just sounds like typical cat behavior to me. but then, I'm still new at this cat thing, having only been the pet of a cat for less than 18 months. it sounds to me like you've got what I call a "social" cat, not an "anti-social" one. some cats will just do anything to get attention, and Marm sounds like he knows how to get plenty of that! idn't it kewl? |

NEWBIES: E.G.'S: Dan~ That may be standard cat behavior....I just dunno! I guess we've just always had anti-social kitties until this one. Gosh, I didn't know what I was missing! LOL |

Most embarrassing when we had company over...had to warn everyone when the cat started jumping on laps. LOL "uh, you might want to cover your ears..." LOL |
